Exclusively with Atlas Interactive: Atlas puts an end to the global variance on Sao Tome and Principe (+239)24.11.09

For the past 15 years the carriers in charge of the termination +239, Portugal Telecom and Companhia Santomense de Telecomunicacoes have been applying an ORR (over rate ratio), also called global variance of 95%. This means that contractually only 95% of the traffic has been paid to Atlas, and the remaining 5% was withheld by the carrier to cover any uncollectables or volume disputes with originating carriers.

From 1 December 2009 Atlas will be paying its clients 100% of the traffic for +239. Now the traffic measured will simply be paid with no need for manual checks or volume disputes, thereby reducing administration.

Atlas strongly believes in this termination, which boasts the widest coverage and highest outpayments in the industry.
